Ankle biter	a toddler, young child

Arvo	afternoon

Aussie	.... the obvious of course... Australian :)

Aussie salute	the wave to get rid of those bloody flies

Avagoodweekend	Have a good weekend mate :)

Backburner	Put it aside till later, dont wanna know about it just now

Back of Burke	Out bush, the outback, middle of nowhere

Bad trot	Have had lots of bad luck :(

Ballistic	is going crazy or mad

Bananabender	A Queenslander: thats me :)

Bangers	Sausages

Bangers and mash	Sausages and mashed potato (like mine with onion)

Barbie	Barbeque or BBQ

Bewdy	cool, excellent, its tops

Beaut	thats great

Bikkie	biscuit, cracker

Big smoke	the city

Billabong	waterhole

Bitzer	A dog of mixed breeds, also called heinz 57 variety

Black stump	Middle of nowhere, outback, back of bourke

Bloke	Male or female but usually male

Bludger	A lazy person, doesnt wanna work

Bobs your uncle	Yep mate... your right, agree

Bush	The country, forests

Cactus	useless, good for nothing

Checkout chick	young female working at the supermarket

Chook	hen, chicken

Couch potatoe	sits all day and does nothing, not energetic, lazy

Digger	Aussie soldier

Dinki-di	A genuine Australian, fair dinkum aussie

Dunny	toilet, Loo

Fair dinkum	sincere, honest in what I say

Flat chat	working fast and hard to get the work done

G'day	Hi, hello, g'day mate and how are u

Joe blake	snake and still use imperial measurements when describing the length of the snake. Imperial makes the snake sound bigger than in metric lol

Kiwi	New Zealander

Nackered	buggared, exhausted, tired

Knickers in a knot	Angry, frustrated, agitated, flustered

Loo	Toilet, dunny

Mate	A friend

Mozzie	Mosquito

Oz	Australia

Pissed	Drunk

Pissed off	angry with someone, fed up, had enough

Plonk	Cheap wine and/or alcohol

Pommie, Pom	An Englishman

Rat bag	Rascal

Reckon	I think so or do you think so?

Roo	Kangaroo

Sheila	Female

Smoko	Morning or afternoon tea break

Stickybeak	To pry into other peoples business

Stoked	Really happy, delighted

Swagman	Person who wanders about the country working

Thingo	If you dont know what something is called, you call it a thingo or thingo ba jig

Tart	Female who is "easy"

Tinnie	Can of beer or an aluminium boat

Tucker	Food

Veges	Vegetables

Walkabout	To go walkabout, go out bush, just get up and go wandering
Zilch	Nil, nothing
